The Club

The Prehistory Club of Kenya was founded in the year 2000 by Dr. Fredrick Kyalo Manthi, a Kenyan Prehistory enthusiast and a senior research scientist in the paleontology section, of the Department of Earth Sciences National Museum of Kenya. The club operates under the auspices of the National  Museum of Kenya’s Earth Science Department. The club provides a forum through which prehistory research and findings are disseminated to the general public. It also encourages youths to venture into prehistory-related disciplines and other life sciences. With the Kenyan youth in mind, the clubs’ main targets are student scholars from learning institutions such as Secondary schools, colleges, and universities.

However, we do not ignore the important role that people outside learning institutions play in the dissemination of information relating to prehistory, and that’s why membership in this integral part of our society is also sought.
